Project Kickoff: GaitXR Consortium Meets in Cyprus to Launch Innovative XR Mobility Tool

The GaitXR project has officially kicked off! The consortium’s first transnational partner meeting was recently hosted by the project coordinator, CYENS Centre of Excellence, in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Funded by the Erasmus+ program, this 30-month initiative brings together experts from across Europe to develop an innovative Extended Reality (XR) tool for gait training. The tool is designed to improve the mobility, balance, and independence of elderly individuals with mild dementia, providing healthcare professionals with an adaptable training system that doesn’t require specialized physical equipment.

During the intensive sessions in Nicosia, the partners mapped out the technical requirements for the XR tool and aligned workflows for the upcoming Educational Programme Manual.

A huge thank you to CYENS for hosting such a productive start to the project. Stay tuned for more updates, and don’t forget to download our 1st Project Newsletter right here on our website!
